The Tru by Hilton offers a convenient spot for airport travel with clean, efficient rooms and friendly staff, but guests should be aware of thin walls, potential shuttle service issues, and occasional minor maintenance hiccups.
This was my first time staying at TRU by Hilton, but I am impressed. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is dog friendly with ample grassy areas and poop bags at the ready. The airport is very close by, but I was not disturbed by the noise of planes flying overhead. The rooms are very nice and I love the convient hand soap and body lotion at the sink, and body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower with the refreshing smell of lemons. I would recommend this location to future travelers!
Tried to check in for a few days just here for work. The clerk says its too late to sell a room. I need to change shower and shave before i start the day. Cant believe I was turned away. I will not return. I can see your empty rooms the windows are open.
Had an exceptional hotel experience at Tru by Hilton! From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. A special shoutout to Keisha at the front desk — her hospitality was truly outstanding. She was warm, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect during my stay. Great service makes all the difference, and Keisha definitely delivered. Thank you for making my visit so enjoyable!
Have stayed here several times. Always clean and no issues. Not sure what’s going on but breakfast was lack luster this time. We arrived at 8:50 (breakfast is served until 9:30) there was no oatmeal, yogurt or milk…. Doesn’t leave much offered for breakfast. Bagels were hard, could only eat about half of it.
Stayed here a couple times. Clean, comfy, and quiet hotel. Great location, close to the airport which I love! I also appreciate that they have normal hinged doors on their bathrooms. Unfortunately, many hotels have started installing sliding barn doors on the bathroom, which offers less privacy. Great Job, Tru!
We've stayed at several Tru hotels in the past but this one's rooms were tiny!! (Clean but tiny). When we showed up our toilet barely flushed and we had 4 people staying in 1 room. ?. We all were worried when anyone had to use it. We had family in another room and their toilet was mostly clogged as well. We were told it was due to the cold weather. ??? That makes no sense. (We finally got someone to plunge ours the next day and it worked....there goes the "cold " theory.) Staff at the front desk was very kind and friendly. But we won't ever be staying at this Tru ever again. It is close to the airport and cheaper than other hotels nearby. Have low expectations and you'll be fine.
Bed was not comfortable. Room was cleaned 1 time during my 4 day stay. Bottled water is not complimentary but they do have filtered water in the lobby. Complimentary breakfast was good; continental style with eggs and bacon or sausage
I travel once a month and always stay at hotels that offer an airport shuttle and allow me to leave my car parked on-site (which I pay $50 for). Unfortunately, this recent stay was the worst experience I’ve had — both with the hotel and their customer service. Departure Morning I had an early flight and was running a bit behind. When I went down to the front desk to get the shuttle, no one was there. I looked around and eventually noticed a woman eating at a nearby table. She glanced at me but said nothing for several minutes. Finally, she asked if I needed the shuttle. I said yes and explained that I was running late. Thankfully, she offered to take me, (she was the driver) and the ride itself was perfectly fine. But the desk attendant never showed up, which should have been my first red flag. The Real Issue — Return Night Ten days later, I arrived back in Columbus at 11 PM after a long trip and still had a 1.5-hour drive home. After retrieving my luggage, I called the hotel for the shuttle. A man answered, and as soon as I said I needed the shuttle, he replied, “Hmm… we’re having trouble finding someone…” Then he put me on hold. A minute later, a very rude woman picked up and said, “Shuttle will be there shortly,” and immediately hung up — no instructions on where to go, no details, nothing. It was cold, rainy, and I had multiple bags. I walked around trying to figure out where the shuttle even picked up. After finally finding the general shuttle area, I stood there alone for 30 minutes. Nothing. I asked where I could get an Uber, walked to that spot, and kept watching the shuttle area. After 40 minutes with still no shuttle in sight, I finally ordered the Uber — it was another 10 minutes before they arrived. Even then, 50 minutes after my first call, the hotel shuttle still had not shown up. Trying to Resolve It I called corporate the next day — they were closed. When I finally got through, I explained everything. After 15 minutes of talking, the rep told me they needed to contact the manager… then informed me the manager was off that day and nothing could be done. I asked if they were really saying that because the manager wasn’t working, the issue couldn’t be resolved. The rep told me to “call back tomorrow and tell the next rep the same story.” Really? Final Thoughts I will never stay at this hotel again. Not because mistakes happened — mistakes happen everywhere — but because they didn’t even try to make it right. Good help may be hard to find, but basic communication and customer care shouldn’t be.
Booked this hotel for an early flight out the next day. We chose the park and ride and confirmed with the desk upon arrival that there would be a shuttle at 5am. We were told, "no problem, shuttles run 24h". At 4:45am the next morning we were told the shuttle was unavailable, it had snowed and they were sure flights were canceled. Ours was NOT. We were then assured that we would be refunded the difference we paid for the park and ride, 7 days later we were not. Called the hotel and spoke to the same rude desk worker who was there Monday morning. She claimed we had not paid for parking, which we did. After much explanation, she agreed to refund the difference. We will see, since we were told that was already done. This hotel was booked specifically for the park and ride option. Never again.
I love Tru hotels! Always clean. Always convenient. Rooms are small and efficient, and breakfast is basic. However, for a quick night in a hotel, this was excellent. The staff here was helpful and punctual with the shuttle to the airport. Thanks for great service!
