Guests frequently praise the property's cleanliness, spaciousness, and value, especially noting friendly staff and convenient access to local dining and gas stations. However, potential complaints include variable water temperature, issues with toilet flushing due to water-saving devices, key card malfunctions, and a deposit requirement.
The reviews were a bit scary, so I was hesitant when we checked in. It wasn't bad at all! The Pros: The room was clean, roomy and the bed was very comfortable. The pillows are nice and fluffy, and they give you four. The bathroom was clean, the fridge and microwave worked. The Cons: The TV was spotty. Not very many channels and the reception was wonky on some. There was no hot water the night we stayed there. It got pretty warm, fine for hand washing, but not hot. It didn't seem like a bad area to me. I was expecting pimps and hookers to be walking around, but I didn't see anything shady. The hotel was quiet and I got a good night's sleep, that's the important thing. We only needed a place to stay for one night, so we didn't bother with amenities such as the pool or gym. One thing that sucked was that the hallways smelled like stale cigarette and marijuana smoke. Strange, considering every room was a non-smoking room. Luckily, the smell didn't seep into the room.
I came here with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. My husband, mom, daughter, and I stayed three nights. We were comfortable, the room was shockingly clean, the staff was extremely friendly. It’s a good value, the breakfast is basic and good as well. We were there for outside attractions and didn’t have time to swim in the pool or checkout the weight room. The hotel met all our needs, would recommend if your looking for value over frills.
I have been here twice on business for state track and field and it has been a nice place for me to stay two of the last three years. The staff is nice and accommodating, the location is great with gas stations and restaurants all around (including a Pizza Hut right next door). The rooms have always been clean for me, the TV is fine and the AC is wonderful during the warmer season. It works well and it's quiet. I don't have a problem with the breakfast. The room is spacious and the food is fine. Could probably use a little more variety of food other than waffles, a banana, toast and cereal. Really, the only issue I had this year were my key cards. On two separate days they didn't work, but as soon as I went to the front desk, they got them working again, just a minor annoyance. Towels were also a little small in the bathroom. I like the water-saving toilets they have, but I was always afraid that it wouldn't flush all of the way.
The hotel itself is nice- it has a wonderful pool and sits at a great location. However, their policies have changed and most travel sites fail to inform you. They require $100 deposit for damages up front to stay. The beds are quite uncomfortable and the toilet doesn’t flush properly because of a “water saving” feature they added to it. The walls are fairly thin, so it’s easy to hear the noise from other rooms. The “continental breakfast” was just bananas and blueberry muffins. It did seem fairly safe, as you cannot get into the building without a key and you can only enter through the main lobby after 11pm. It was very clean and well kept. If you’re looking for somewhere cheap to stay, this is a decent choice, but that deposit is killer.
The hotel parking lot and lobby was set up a little weird which caused us to have to drive around the parking lot entirely looking for the entrance, but it's sorry of facing towards the main road behind the building with the pool. It looked to be relatively clean in the halls and public areas. Our room was clean enough to. The bed spread was that polyester feeling material so I didn't like that. I didn't see any signs of bugs, but something did bite me in the arm, but that could've been anything. There is a pretty large pool in a building across from the lobby. There's also a gym in there, locker rooms, a hot tub (only for 18 and up), and a sauna in the locker rooms. I didn't check out anything but the pool though. It is set up like a competition pool so it's roped off in lanes which makes it a little harder to play for the kids. There was supposed to be a free hotel breakfast, but nobody informed me of it and I only saw the sign as I was checking out. It would've been nice had I known though, but they're was nothing in our room telling us and the check in guy didn't tell me either. There was an ice machine in the hall and a pop machine. Checkout is rather early at 11 a m which was kind of annoying because you can't check in until 3, but have to be totally it by 11 the next morning.
