Guests report inconsistent experiences, with recent stays praising clean rooms and friendly staff like Daniel, while others describe plumbing failures, pest issues, and unprofessional behavior. The location is valued for its proximity to Culver's and other amenities.
If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Our stay at La Quinta Columbus West felt like a survival challenge rather than a hotel visit. The moment we walked into the room, we were greeted by what seemed like an entire colony of ants marching across the floor like they had booked the room before we did. It was honestly impressive how comfortable they were. Things only went downhill from there. Both of our rooms had toilets that quite literally exploded like they were auditioning for a plumbing horror movie. After that dramatic performance, they refused to flush at all, which made using the bathroom an adventure nobody asked for. On top of that, there were visible stains on the pillowcases that made us question whether the bedding had ever met a washing machine. To add to the luxury experience, the shower had absolutely no body wash, so if you planned on actually being clean during your stay, you were out of luck. The only redeeming part of this entire experience was the front desk employee, Muhammed. He was genuinely kind, helpful, and the only person who seemed to care that the place was falling apart around us. If the hotel had more staff like him, it might stand a chance. Overall, unless you enjoy insects, plumbing disasters, and mystery stains, I would strongly recommend staying literally anywhere else.
My husband and I came here to stay, and we found our room very clean, especially the bathroom. We found that the gentleman housekeeper, James, cleaned our room. We talked with him and found him to be very kind and helpful. The women housekeepers should take a que from him. They were very rude to us and him. One of them yelled at him, and she obviously didn't know we could hear her because as soon as she saw us she got quiet and walked away giving a dirty look. We later found out she was the housekeeping supervisor, Nilda. She really needs to learn to keep her place. It was quite obvious she was very bias towards him; which in our opinions, she should lose her job. She is too unprofessional for the position she has. She should be lifting people up, not tearing them down. After watching the display she put on I don't know if we will be back or not. One more thing, the parking lot and grounds were a disgrace. Trash everywhere and the outside trash cans were overflowing. Do they have anyone there who does the grounds on Wednesdays or are they off that day? M.N.
Enjoyed recent stay at this location. The hotel was clean, quiet and in convenient location to restaurants, stores, gas, etc. Daniel was very friendly and helpful, along with the rest of the staff. Would definitely stay here again! Didn't have time to try the breakfast.
Room was excellent. Breakfast was great. Only issue was the water pressure. It was horrible taking a shower. The gym equipment needs some work. Elliptical and stationary bike didn't work that well.
All I can say is WOW. Daniel is a real peach. I’ve never been so uncomfortable or been so disrespected at a hotel. I’ve also never been asked to bring towels down to the front desk. We will gladly (and obviously) never stay at this location again. This won’t be the only place I’ll leave this review.
Spent the night there last night, and traveled all the way from NJ with my cat! The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable! Bonus the hotel itself was super quiet which helped my anxious cat relax, and I slept great. Staff were friendly and talkative, and they had a good breakfast spread. I’d recommend!
This is a little hotel in the middle of many other hotels and strip malls and yet the staff stood out for their interest in our wellbeing, their friendly smiles, and good humor. We also appreciated the hot breakfast and the helpfulness of the staff with our dog. I highly recommend this La Quinta if you're passing though Columbus or putting up family.
This hotel sits in a busy area. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, one of which is Culver's, conveniently located beside the hotel. Our room is okay, but the furniture and fixtures are outdated. Wifi is not that great. Breakfast needs an overhaul.
This place isn’t bad if you are just spending the night, if you are stuck here because you broke down it’s not very comfortable since there is no chair to sit in and watch tv just some sort of weird lounge or lay on the bed all day to watch tv Location is great there is a Culver’s right next door plenty of restaurants around a Walmart and a movie theater The free breakfast is nothing to write home about but it gets the job done All long as you like the smell of weed this place is ok. When I was dropped off by Uber as I was getting out of the car an employee walked out the front door and lit a joint
Rooms are stuffy and walls are thin. Much better accommodations nearby. One staff member in particular was oddly rude. Stepped out for a breath of air a few times and every time came to ask me if I was staying there.
