The Hampton Inn Columbus/Dublin has mixed reviews, with significant concerns regarding cleanliness, staff responsiveness, and operational issues such as malfunctioning equipment and outdated facilities. While some guests praise the convenient location, friendly staff (particularly Tina), and clean rooms, recurring issues suggest underlying problems with maintenance and service standards.
COCKROACHES - DO NOT STAY HERE! We booked through Expedia and got our stay refunded thankfully, but we found multiple cockroaches around our hotel room in December of 2025. Babies crawling around on our bed, full-sized adults crawling on the walls, multiple sizes of them in the bathroom crawling in and out of the vents. Disgusting! Attached photos are the only ones we got but we saw at least 9+ in the 2 hours we were there.
The cell-like rooms were clean, the water runs, the mildew around the shower is just starting. So that's good. The climate control was uneven and the rooms are very dry and uncomfortable - hard to sleep soundly. The rooms are dark with only 3 dim lamps, But you can go into the bathroom to read! The lobby is dark and gloomy too. The entire impression is dismal, disquieting. This despite the "artwork" - I believe the period is known as "Contemporary Digital Ghastly." And The worst element in this misfortune was the service - indifferent at best, surly most of the time. The owner or manager obviously doesn't (1) know how to treat employees; (2) understand the importance of having cheerful, competent people to interact with the public; or (3) grasp the meaning of the word "hospitality" in the phrase "hospitality industry." Needless to say, I'm delighted that our stay is over. Best of luck Hampton Inn Dublin; I won't attempt to remember anything about this ordeal, nor will we ever meet again.
Most of the plugs and charging ports in the rooms don’t work. There was no coffee or hot water available on Thanksgiving day. I was fine with the breakfast not being available but I am pretty sure coffee and hot water would be manageable. The tv reception cut in and out.
Room was not very clean. Stayed 7 nights and the room was only cleaned on two days. Had to ask for toilet paper,, towels and a hair dryer. The warm breakfast (eggs, bacon and potatoes) was usually cold. Two days in a row there were no plates, only bowls.
Staff were friendly but our room had some issues, like a sticky oily substance covering the table and the bathroom fan not working. At check in we were told breakfast ran until ten but on the first morning when we went down at 9:30 all the food had already been taken away. Also the pool was out of order, which was a little disappointing since we were looking forward to using it.
Easy access, plenty of parking l, very convenient access to Dublin & old Dublin by foot or car. Hotel & rooms were clean BUT they had the most inattentive and 'missing' staff of any Hilton property we've ever been to. The front desk was frequently empty - even for 20 minutes or more. When we did find staff to ask for towels, fixing it room lock, etc - no one ever responded...
Clearly this has not always been a Hampton inn. Staff was extremely friendly, most of the property was very nice and being painted/fixed up. Our room was dirty, like items under the bed and feet/socks turned black from the carpet. Fridge was leaking water, and bathroom had seen better days for sure. We went in August and the pool which was in the shade of the building was colder than kids could tolerate.
Awful. Reserved for four nights and apparently the bloke Tony not only didn't listen but reserved for one night. So the next morning while we're here, we constantly get bothered to leave because we weren't actually supposed to be here apparently despite saying that's how long we were going to stay. So when we go down to the desk to check this, they decide it's a good idea to disable our keys so whether we were staying or going we couldn't get back into the room to get our stuff. Well I can certainly say we aren't planning to stay the rest of the days here. Terrible service all around. Also the toilet was broken and constantly threatening to overflow. Also it should be written in the card to say how long people are going to stay so "confusion" like this doesn't happen. Also, you should get a bell for the front desk if your staff is going to constantly be in the back or have another person work up front to cover people so they can go in the back. And please the cleaners should not be whistling and whatnot. That can wake people up because not everyone comes in during morning times and wakes up at 7 or 8.
There hotel was nice & clean. They always had fresh apples and bananas and coffee and hot tea all day long. Their breakfast was amazing. One of the ladies her name is Tina made sure that everything you could possibly need or want was put out it was fresh and if there was anything that you did not have she was always willing to help accommodate. She had an amazing positive attitude I think anyone staying there should make sure they put a note into management to let them know what a wonderful job she has done. The only issue was the online booking information and digital passkey that you can use your phone to get into your room was not available at the time I tried to use it and the people that work there know nothing about the online stuff that was very apparent. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Checked in late around midnight. I had an unexpected trip and I was trying to drive as far as I could. The man checking me in was very nice and helpful. I get to my room and it was very nicely done and the most important thing was that it was very clean. Woke up the next morning and had their breakfast. Bacon and potatoes was all I wanted and they were good. Checking out the lady at the counter was very nice also. I’m glad I stayed here and if I’m ever through here again and find myself needing a room I will definitely go here.
