This Home2 Suites by Hilton Columbus Downtown has received mixed reviews, with guests praising its spacious rooms, pet-friendly policy, and convenient downtown location. However, significant concerns have been raised regarding inconsistent cleanliness, water supply issues, and staff responsiveness, particularly concerning unresolved complaints and a lack of assistance during challenging situations.
Our house caught on fire so mind you it was a very stressful situation finding a place to stay and from the moment we walked into this establishment the staff was nothing but warm and kind and soooooo accommodating.they understood we had just been through a disaster and did everything in their power to make sure we were in good hands.the rooms we super clean and nice.the breakfast was amazing and this place is very pet friendly.i couldn't ask for a better experience with a hotel. I personally wanted to thank the staff members Kat brown, lamonica parker and misty rice. You guys made this disasterous situation manageable and I couldn't thank you enough
I would like to take the time out to say thank you to the woman at the front desk on January 12 between 2 to 3 pm. Me and my family were facing the tragic loss of my Son due to suicide and your employee went above and beyond to welcome us and make us feel so loved. You are truly blessed to have this woman as your employee for the Hilton and I feel so terrible for not knowing her name. She was nothing but amazing. Thank you so much. Keep being the beautiful woman that you are. I am truly honoured to have met you. Thank you so much for the love you showed me and my son. My apologies for taking so long, again, thank you so much.
I could not take a shower my entire stay here. My room has had no usable water for the entirely of my stay. First there was no water at all (I couldn't even wash my hands) and then only ice cold water, no hot water. I was not informed in advance (I was checked in and only found out about the water outage from a note in the elevator). A hotel room without working usable water for an extended period is an absolute service failure. Let's add rude staff (upon check in I was not greeted, was interrupted several times as I was talking and asked to present my ID upon which I was informed that "I don't touch people's IDs" with a face), trash had q-tips that were not mine, I was cold and could not adjust the temperature to the pile of service failures of this establishment. And breakfast is bad. Questionable egg patties and chicken nuggets were the only protein options (it said sausage but it was MIA). No fiber options at all. Bread (you can make a waffle) and cereal is all you get. My flight got turned around in the air the day I was supposed to arrive and despite me sending an email letting the hotel know that due to circumstances outside of mine and the airlines control I will be arriving the next morning, I was charged and no show fee on top of the room fee. Things that were good so that I'm fair: room was spacious (and has a small kitchen), breakfast is not busy, location close to downtown, not all front desk staff is rude (probably - I hope at least), pet friendly. Separate note for Alexis (bless her heart) who went above and beyond - she did truly try her best with what she could. She offered me options of lowering the rates, checking out early and not being charged for the night, points and a snack. None of this gets me a shower though. I planned on staying here in the future. I will not. And I 10/10 do not recommend it to anyone else.
Place is A+ and was clean. No issues with the rooms. All they need left is at least some EV chargers in the parking area. Would come again!
We were in town for a volleyball tournament. Had a nice stay at this hotel. Beds were comfortable, room was quiet and the breakfast was good. Also the parking ramp is convenient for easy parking.
What a fantastic hotel! The rooms have plenty of space and they're gorgeously laid out, the beds are comfortable, the breakfast each morning is warm and ready - I'm a sucker for potato wedges and my girlfriend enjoyed the waffles - and Alexis at the front gave us great advice on where to eat, as well as just being generally helpful each day. This was a great trip to Ohio, and the hotel was only a plus to it in every way.
I travel frequently on business so was very surprised that this hotel did not meet expectations. I've stayed at plenty of HIlton2 Suites but this one disappointed. The area is sketchy, rooms dated, and not much nearby. Doesn't feel safe for walking on my own at night. The front desk staff was unhelpful. While nice, she wasn't able to assist with any information of guidance on what's nearby. they printed a TV channel list which was missing channels but I was able to find them on the TV. The front desk said "there are no good views" so it doesn't matter what room you choose. If you are seeking a glass of wine after a long day, choose elsewhere!
I was really disappointed with my recent stay at Home2 Suites Downtown Columbus. The cleanliness was below Hilton standards — the carpets and common areas looked dirty, and housekeeping was inconsistent. Breakfast was also a letdown, with very limited options and even no coffee available on some mornings. The laundry facilities weren’t working properly, which was inconvenient during a longer stay. My room also shook daily for unknown reasons (I even recorded video because it was so concerning). On top of that, the fire alarm went off with no explanation or follow-up from staff. The staff often seemed disengaged and unprofessional, and the overall atmosphere didn’t reflect the level of care or hospitality I expect from a Hilton property. For a hotel with only 106 rooms, my group and I experienced far too many issues. Unfortunately, this stay has made me reconsider choosing Hilton for future travel.
Location was a little off campus but that’s poor planning on my end. Staff was exceedingly friendly and quick to help out. Free coffee and tea served round the clock in the lobby. Didn’t make it to the breakfast but it smelled great walking through the lobby early in the morning. Rooms were clean and ours offered a kitchen with a sink, dishwasher, large fridge and kitchenware (coffee and tea maker aswell) Check in was a little hard to find if you aren’t parking your car in the upstairs lot. Would definitely stay here again.
Excellent stay. Reasonably close to the airport. Plenty of good restaurants within immediate vicinity. Breakfast buffet is on point. Gym is well furnished and open 24 hours. Staff is unfailingly polite and attentive. Parking is a little steep, so just be advised.
