The Courtyard by Marriott Columbus Worthington receives mixed reviews, with a strong emphasis on the exceptional service provided by Manager John. Guests appreciate the convenient location and comfortable rooms, particularly the balconies and coffee amenities. However, concerns exist regarding inconsistent room cleanliness, outdated facilities, and infrequent pest control, alongside occasional issues with hotel services and security.
My Daughter picked out this hotel for my Birthday. I checked in Friday February 20th, till Sunday February 22nd, 2026. My Stay was only perfect because of the Manager Mr.John, and Mrs.Gail. Mr.John, I had the best experience with him. If it wasn't for Mr.John, I would of had left Friday night. He went above, and beyond to make me happy as a customer. I have never been to that hotel, and he made my experience great!!! I wish they could "Clone" him! He moved to me to another room, due to some one next to me that was making a lot of noise. He made sure I had something to eat Saturday evening, due to the Bistro being closed. He is also one of the sweetest people that you will ever want to meet! He should be promoted to, General Manager, IJS. The other staff needs some tweeking, to say the least. Mrs.Gail, was very nice, and sweet! She was very welcoming! I adore Mr.John, and he is a awesome Manager! That hotel would be absolutely lost without him, to say the least! The hotel needs some upgrades, and better staff like Mr.John. The pictures doesn't reflect what the rooms really look like. If you want a great experience, from a Great Manager/ Human being. Ask for Mr.John! He will make sure that you are treated with Care, and, Kindness! And that your stay is memorable? Thank you, Mr.John!!! YOU ROCK!!!!!
Front desk check-in was strange and a bit off-putting but whatever. Room was ok clearly some remodeling was going on. The wallpaper in the hallways as they touched the moldings looked like water damaged. The shower in my room was very narrow. One shoulder touched the shampoo/bodywash stand and one the glass door. Very weird. Additionally, 10-minute shower and was out of hot water. Finally on the way to the elevator put a damn door in the doorway instead of a black dirty blanket with a sign that says employees only. Looks very trashy. Marriot lifetime gold member with 100s of nights stayed. Very subpar.
BLUF: This js a solid place to rest your head, but if there’s snow in the forecast, I’d hope for better parking lot/side-entrance clearing. Visited this property in January right after a major snowfall, which made arrival a bit wonky. The automatic sliding door sensor at the front entrance wasn’t working, so you had to manually start the slide before the motor would engage. I’m assuming that’s probably been fixed by now. Check-in was quick as expected—under five minutes—though the size/layout of the property made the walk to the room longer than typical for a Courtyard. The biggest downside was snow removal. The parking lot clearly hadn’t been plowed, and even though our room wasn’t far from the side entrance and elevator, we still had to shuffle through well over a foot of snow to get inside. The only real alternative was parking near the front where it looked like it had been cleared, but those spaces were already full. The room felt partially updated rather than fully renovated. The bathroom flooring and counters looked new, but the stained carpet, dirty light switches, and peeling popcorn ceiling looked untouched for a long time. Outlets were also limited. The outlet bank on the nightstand was a lifesaver because otherwise there weren’t many convenient places to plug in—especially if you’re charging multiple devices (phones, watches, tablets, etc.). One nice surprise: the balcony. It was far too cold to use on this trip, but it’s a good feature to have in mind for a future stay. Location-wise, the hotel is convenient with several restaurants within walking distance. For us, Sheetz ended up being the regular stop.
I stayed at this hotel for a few days last week while I handled some personal business. After moving rooms a couple of times, I finally got a quiet corner room on the third floor where I thought I could keep things low-key and mind my business. What I didn’t realize was just how closely security was paying attention. Thursday morning, the front desk called and told me there was too much traffic to my room and that I wouldn’t be allowed to rebook the next day. Soon after, security came to my door, we argued, and the police were called to remove me. But when I got downstairs, the tone shifted. The front desk staff reconsidered and ended up letting me stay. I stayed calm, played it off, and honestly… it felt like I got away with something in that moment. I’m sharing this because if you stay here, just know security is watching closely. If anything seems off, they will step in and they can put you out. I thought I was moving discreetly, but clearly, somebody was paying attention the whole time. Thanks to the front desk lady and whoever she was on the phone with I was spared until morning. I Def won't be coming here again. Staff too nosey cause why is you watching my room like it's yo business. Just a heads up — be mindful. Not the place for tomfoolery
*READ THIS POST IF YOU WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THE WORKERS THEMSELVES- NOT THE ROOMS* So this is a bit of a different review. I didn’t stay here overnight, but I did in fact come here when I needed help. I lived down the street at the time and my cat had gotten out. I was devastated and started going nearby to different hotels/restaurants/shops in the area to ask for help looking for him. This place was one of my first stops. I was clearly shaken up. I spoke to a man at the front desk who took my information and was welcoming with open arms. He was very attentive and even allowed me to search their immediate space/hang up signs. 6 hours later I found myself back here searching some more after attempted fails with finding my cat. As I was searching, the front desk man and a few workers popped out to speak to me. I was informed by said man that him and all his workers were on the lookout for my cat. He said he had communicated to his fellow coworkers of the situation and told them to make it a top priority when able. I truly felt overly supported. It meant a lot to me (I did find my cat right by there!!!!) but overall it spoke a TON about the workers. I went to other hotels right alongside them and this one stood out to me the most. They showed me they weren’t just a company and workers who got paid to be there, but they were human beings that truly cared about others. If I ever considered staying ANYWHERE for a quick trip in the area again, I would 1000% choose here. Again, I never truly stayed in a room to be frank, but the workers themselves stood out to me a lot that day; and in a great way.
I stayed here for 10 days. I had a great stay at the courtyard. John, one of the hotel managers, was absolutely fantastic!!!! He made me feel very welcome. John definitely made my stay at the Marriott even more delightful! The only negative thing that I experienced was from the ladies that worked with housekeeping that could speak English during my 10 days stay there I would overhear The ladies working in housekeeping(the American ones) gossip and speak ill of the guest that we’re staying there. which I thought was extremely distasteful! Although the other housekeepers were absolutely awesome.
There were cockroaches in our room! The staff was nice but they didn't even offer to help and I had to ask multiple times for a new room. Later the manager emailed me and told me he didn't think there could ever be cockroaches in his hotel. Again did not offer a refund or anything to accommodate for the poor experience. Hotel is not worth the price! No free breakfast and grime in the shower. Plus COCKROACHES!!!!
I was pretty disappointed in this stay to be honest. For this to be a Marriott and cost what it does, it’s not worth it. No free breakfast, furniture is worn in the room and the bathroom showed signs of just being old/not throughly clean as there were pockets of brown dirt everywhere. The beds were clean and comfy and the layout of the room is nice. The location is good as well. We did a one night stay and I wouldn’t recommend more than that..and to be honest, this is not a hotel I would return to at its current price per night.
4.5 stars Painless check in. Clean room and comfortable beds. The shower had nice water pressure and were also clean. Elevator didn't work so had to go to the other on other side of hotel. Starbucks in lobby for breakfast which was delicious.
Me and my wife stayed one night and were very unsatisfied. When we entered the room the very first thing we saw was dirty carpet with food stain all over and was not cleaned. Second we opened refrigerator and saw old drink from prior customer. The next morning when my wife headed to shower and found out there was no conditioner and body wash. When I tried to call the front dest nobody answered me. Just one night stay and was very unhappy with this hotel. I do not recommend here to stay.
